After yesterday’s post on Tibet and China dispute (click here to read), I had to post this little follow-up after reading a story by the BBC today. I may be one of the few to think that not just China, but also Tibet got caught with its pants down here.

Apparently the Chinese workers in a Guangdong factory utilized the internet to find out what these colorful flags they had been making meant. It turns out they were the Tibetan flag being produced for export!

A story that I dare to say is ironic for both sides. First that the Chinese would be producing the flags for Tibet, the same “autonomous region” that they refuse to view as its own country, then secondly, that Tibetan supporters would put the production of the Tibetan flag into the hands of the Chinese. As I state in yesterday’s piece on Tibet and China, Tibetans aim to boycott Chinese produced goods. This is a lose-lose tie in the China vs. Tibet match!

It is unclear as to who is actually behind the order for the flags.

You can find the story by clicking here to head to the BBC story, “‘Free Tibet’ flags made in China.”
